Vol. VI, The Doorway Papers Series: Time and Eternity

The six Papers in Volume VI (Part I to Part VI) all assume Scripture to be the touchstone of truth, and that Scripture is consistent both with itself and with the assured findings of research. Furthermore, it is shown how one Spirit has clearly directed, supervised and inspired the writing of Scripture throughout.

PART I: TIME AND ETERNITY: CREATION AND THE THEORY OF RELATIVITY
Time viewed objectively began "in the beginning" and flows by with a past, a present, and a future. Time began, said Augustine, with creation. Time has no meaning or existence, said Einstein, apart from the physical universe. Time viewed subjectively is relative: it slows almost to a halt in suffering but speeds by in joy. This has a bearing on what happened on the Cross during those three hours of darkness.

PART II: THREE TREES: AND ISRAEL'S HISTORY
The Bible uses certain symbols with meanings that could only be understood by those with spiritual discernment. This Paper looks at three of these symbols: the vine, the fig tree, and the olive tree. They represent Israel's history from three perspectives: the national, the religious, and the spiritual.

PART III: BETWEEN THE LINES: AN ANALYSIS OF GENESIS 1:1, 2
The analyses of grammar, syntax and vocabulary of the original Hebrew show that a gap of time occurs between verses 1 and 2 of Genesis 1. This gap could represent a hiatus between what the world had been prior to becoming without form and void, and before the creation week in Genesis 1.

PART IV: THE OMNIPOTENCE OF GOD IN THE AFFAIRS OF MEN
This Paper considers the vital distinction between fruits and works, between justification (of actions) and forgiveness (of motives), between the wishes and the intentions of God, and the basis of God's judgment of human behaviour.

PART V: THE CONFUSION OF LANGUAGE
All men conversed in one language until the Tower of Babel was being built. This Paper looks at the evidence for a sudden break-up of a universal language, the nature of this 'confusion' and what happened at the Tower of Babel.

PART VI: CAIN'S WIFE: AND THE PENALTY OF INCEST
Cain married his sister for Eve became the mother of all living. This Paper looks at how beautifully consistent Scripture is, both with itself and with the latest assured findings of research into the genetics of in-breeding.

Spiral bound, 8.5 x 11 inche format.
